Place of publication "Villa Bordighiera, New Southgate, London, N."; "thirteen years (1877-90) were spent at Bordighera Villa, New Southgate." (The Bookman, November 1897, "The reader : Mr. Gerald Massey at home"). Taken together, this establishes a possible date range of 1883-1890 for the publication of this work so it seems reasonable to accept DLC's date of 1887.
